Slow Travel Google Map: United Kingdom, Hadrians Wall

Author: PatrickLondon
Notes: December 2006: Hadrian's Wall in northern England. The Wall was built in the AD120s by the Emperor Hadrian from coast to coast to protect the Roman province against the unconquered tribes to the north. A National Trail runs along the line of the Wall, passing many remains and offering access to some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain; and there are good bus and train links making day trips easy. This is a first Google-sketch of a map, so please follow the links for official information and advice about maps and walking guides. See Trip Report 1057.
