The mortuary was in Fowey, where they took Magnus' body after the accident.

Kilmarth

I think this is where the house was located. "I drove slowly up the drive, turned left out of the lane to the main road, and went down Polmear Hill, pausing when I reached the bottom to survey the scene." (p. 25)

Par

Par was the closest village, with church. Train station that Magnus arrived at before he was killed, church yard.

Treesmill

Much of the historical action took place here.

Tywardreath

Village where present day church and past Priory are located. "Magnus had taken the local connection from Bodmin Road to Par because it would travel more slowly through the Treesmill valley than the express. He knew, from my description, that he had only to look left and up, after passing Treesmill Farm to see the Gratten. Then, because it was still light when the train arrived at Par, he would have walked up the Tywardreath Road and cut across the fields to inspect the site." (p. 181)
