Riomaggiore: Affitttacamere Edi

Via Colombo, 111, Phone: 0187.920325

When: September 2006

Pleasant rooms, convenient location, a good price and helpful service.

Edi seems to have rooms in several buildings in Riomaggiore. We rented 3 double rooms in a building that also had apartments where people lived. The rooms were fairly spacious, clean and bright, with TV and an adequate bath. One room had a terrace with a nice garden and one had a sitting area and a kitchen (could use the refrigerator but needed to pay extra to use stove/oven).

We had e-mailed several places, and Edi was very responsive and the rooms were as advertised: convenient to main part of town and train station, not too many stairs (about 1-1/2 flights). We arrived after business hours, had called from Milan and someone met us at the train station and took us to the rooms.

Riomaggiore was a good choice for us as a base to visit the Cinque Terre. There were several restaurants, a good gelato place was open until midnight, the main street, while crowded during the day, was quiet in the evening. The price was very reasonable at 55/night/room.

We found Edi and her staff accommodating and helpful. We had reconfirmed by e-mail a few days before our arrival and had let them know in advance we could not get there during office hours. Edi does not have her own website, but a search will turn up a booking link. I would stay there again.
