This charming agriturismo, run by Paolo and his wife Noella, is well located just off the main road, yet feels miles away from the rest of the world. The six large bedrooms are all ensuite, and if you want to rent out all six bedrooms you'll even be able to have your own kitchen and living/dining area complete with a huge fireplace. If you're renting a single room then you can expect breakfast to include homemade treats from Noella's kitchen, and if you'd like, she'll even give you a cooking lesson or two! The warmth of this family is what makes this agriturismo so special. We found out about it from friends who have now returned over and over again, and have even hosted Paolo and Noella in their home in Boston! We recently stayed in room #4, a corner room that felt like a suite! It was decorated simply yet comfortably but with such a beautiful property, we didn't want to spend much time inside. [Click on "Rooms," then #4 on the website for a photo.] I especially liked the wood oven that's built into the house, and the pool offers such stunning views you'll probably never want to close your eyes! One of the things I liked about this property is that it didn't require driving down a long winding road to get to it, but it still felt remote and was very peaceful. From this agriturismo you can easily visit Montalcino (where Noella's sister owns one of the best restaurants in town, Il Grappola Blu!), Pienza, Montepulciano, Sant'Antimo, San Quirico, Castiglione d'Orcia, Siena and beyond. The Val d'Orcia is a destination in itself, and if you're like me, the camera will never stop clicking! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
