This a lovely and quiet agriturismo/B&B that is a bit off the beaten track, but is very rewarding on account of the great kindness and hospitality of Evi and Kalle, the hosts and owners, and the comfort offered. The room we had was lovely, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was one of the best we had in the various accommodations on our trip. A very nice aspect of the accommodation is the common area where it is possible to chat with others, have access to a computer, watch TV or read. There is also a pretty outdoor area for relaxing outside. During breakfast, at least at this time of year, all the guests are seated together on both sides of a long table, something we thought of as special and enjoyable. The meal was served in a beautifully renovated room - look for the original builder's trademark pistols on the ceiling... We were sorry that we could come for only one day - Evi and Kalle are wonderful hosts, and we felt that we could spend hours talking with them. They are to be admired for the fact that at an age where others sometimes prefer to stick to themselves, they have opened their home to complete strangers. They devote time and energy to making sure their guests feel at home, and do so with gusto and pleasure that is rarely seen. Both are completely fluent in English, which made the stay even better for us. We'd certainly return here. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
