Comfortable and budget rooms near the Langhe area; also offers meals.

Cascina Vrona is in the middle of the Roero area of Piedmont, which means the lower and gentler hills right before Langhe. It is an agriturismo that started only three years ago, therefore all the rooms are brand new and very nice. There are six rooms (two up in the mansard, four on the first floor), all furnished with nice and solid-looking wooden furniture which, in the mansard rooms, reflect the wooden beams of the ceiling in a slightly darker color. One thing you will notice is that there is no wardrobe, substituted with a small stand, which is a very good choice for the shorter stays that one usually makes in agriturismi. The upper rooms also have scenic three-sided windows that offer 180 degrees sights of the hills. The bathrooms are large and well-heated, with a shower cabin but, unfortunately, without a bidet, but one can live without it for a few days. ^_^ Breakfast is served in a traditionally Italian style, but it is rich nonetheless: fruit juice, bread, butter, (homemade) marmelades, honey, nutella, yogurt, corn-flakes, coffee, tea and milk are all available from a buffet. Double rooms cost 55 euros including breakfast (in total, not each). 50 euros per person will grant you half-board accommodation. The agriturismo doubles as restaurant: to check the cuisine for half board and the resturant check out my other review in the Restaurant section.
