When: June 2010

Very comfortable farmhouse B&B, less than 10 minutes from Orvieto. Beautiful views! Friendly and helpful hosts.

We spent one night at Agriturismo Cioccoleta in June 2010. We wanted a restful place to stay in the countryside before taking an early morning train from Orvieto to Rome.

Cioccoleta is located less than ten minutes from the hilltown of Orvieto, beyond the small village (commercial center) of Bardano. The big farmhouse has eight rooms and sits on a hilltop, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and fields. There are beautiful views in every direction.

We had a large triple room on the second floor with a large bathroom. Everything was very clean. Angela and her husband both spoke very good English and were extremely friendly. Angela even got up early to serve us breakfast earlier than their normal time. Breakfast was simple, but the homemade cake was excellent.

For dinner we drove to Orvieto, parking in a multi-story garage and taking escalators up to the old city. And getting to the train station the next morning was very easy. Angela was very helpful with directions and suggestions.

This would be a nice place for a longer stay. The outdoor areas are very attractive with plenty of places for relaxing, though there's not a swimming pool. We paid 90 euro for three people in a triple room, including breakfast.
