The reliable and comfortable Albergo della Lunetta has a beautiful name and a convenient location just steps away from the Campo dei Fiori.
This hotel was a bargain for Rome at €140 for two, my sister and I, and although breakfast was not included there was a good bakery nearby.
We also enjoyed morning coffee in Campo dei Fiori. Twice in Rome, I have arrived at hotels to find reservations I had confirmed were cancelled without notice. I was delighted that La Lunetta had my reservation for a room with twin beds even though it was all done over the internet months before.
The room was quiet, facing on a central area across from other apartments, there were several flights of steps up to our room. The bathroom was small, but functional, with plenty of clean towels. I would have enjoyed a TV, but there was air conditioning, which we turned out not to need, but which for me is usually a necessity in Rome. Our cab fare here from Roma Termini was €10. I recommend this hotel for the no-frills traveler.

A little expensive considering my room, especially compared to where I stayed in Florence. But I would still recommend this hotel given the wonderful location...
...with Campo dei Fiori just steps away, but in its own little quiet(ish) piazza. My room was a single w/out bath (60 euros/night) and was small (about as wide as I am tall, which is not very) but with 2 nice antique pieces of furniture. It looked onto not the interior courtyard but another, which would be quiet except it echoed if others were talking with their windows open. For the most part, other people were quiet. It wasn’t hot enough in May that I couldn’t close my windows if it was a little noisy.
Unfortunately, someone was smoking in the shared bathroom, which was really gross so I often went one flight up to use another bathroom. The staff also smokes downstairs but it didn’t bother me much. As is the case with every hotel in Italy, the towels leave something to be desired!
This hotel does have a lovely rooftop deck with a view of other rooftops. There’s an interior courtyard with some exotic plants and the rooftop is up a spiral staircase with a table and also lounge chairs. This was the draw for me though I only used it once. It made up for not having a room that was sunny and nice to hang out in. Very nice, but ever changing, staff who all spoke decent English. I am not sure, but if you wanted to face the interior courtyard, you might have people walking by your only window. I would also request an upper level room to let more light in if I stayed again.
