Excellent location, quiet. {4 stars}

The room was E138 per night. It is located at the South end of town, about a 15-20 minute walk from the Lake. The area is quiet at night, mostly, I think, because there is an island with a small park and trees between the hotel and the street.

The hotel provides free wi-fi but we were unable to access it, I don't know why because we could in Malpensa and Rome. The desk was unable to help, so no internet.

They provide an English TV channel, CNN International, but the picture rolls so, only sound. It comes in clearly in the lobby downstairs. There is off-street parking provided in a courtyard of the hotel for E15 per night.

Breakfast is included and lunch and dinner is served in the dining room and there is a lounge.

The room is large enough and has a good sized bathroom. Our room had a beamed ceiling and a frigobar.

Overall, no big complaints except the lack of internet.

But, it seems to be a case of "faded glory." The rugs are worn, the drapes and wall paper faded; there were two places where the ceiling had leaked water. We were there when a severe rain storm raged for 24 hours and the walls also leaked and there was some water on the floor. The hotel staff seem unconcerned.

Next trip to Como we will look at some of the places on the lake but they are quite a bit more expensive and we certainly will consider staying here again. The location is excellent and it was "comfy" even in the extreme weather we experienced.
