Bonassola is two train stops from Cinque Terre. It is quiet, friendly and romantic with all the charm of a Mediterranean town.

This charming, three-star hotel is situated near Cinque Terre with an astounding view of the Mediterranean Sea without the hustle of bustle of the tourists. We stayed on the top floor near the veranda overlooking the the main street and the Sea.

The rooms were decorated with antiques and were clean and comfortable at a rate of 75 euros a night.

Each morning we could hear the townspeople gathering at the cafe to read the paper, disucss local events and drink litres of espresso. We fell in love with the nearby restaurants and their flair for marinated, fried, baked and grilled sardines - a local culinary favorite.
