Oristano: Antica Dimora del Gruccione

Santu Lussurgiu (Oristano)

Reviewed by: Vik from IL, review #3166

Great location for exploring the area, excellent rooms, exquisite food, and great hospitality. {3 stars}

This Albergo Diffuso (a hotel that consists of several houses in the same neighborhood) is a unique experience. Situated on a narrow residential street in Santu Lussurgiu in the province of Oristano, the property is full of character and has excellent amenities.

The courtyard that welcomes you the moment you walk in the gate makes you feel like you have stepped into an oasis of calm and nature. And, indeed, our entire stay here had that feeling of relaxation and great hospitality.

The rooms are very spacious and beautifully restored. The bathrooms are also spacious and very comfortable. The whole property gives you the sense of being in someone's house, not a hotel as most of us imagine it. This was our first experience of staying in an albergo diffuso and we will certainly return here.

The dinner served in the restaurant on the first floor features local ingredients and it is a dining experience not to be missed. The food is excellent and very skillfully prepared by the chef, Roberto. The wine list is carefully constructed and excellently priced.

A unique experience that I will certainly return for!
