Great Venice Hotel. Lovely public room overlooking the Grand Canal.

We recently stayed at this hotel after reading multiple reviews online. We were not disappointed.

Our room had no view of the Grand Canal, but was relatively large and comfortable. Bathroom was very well appointed and spotless. Breakfast was as good as we had anywhere.

One thing we loved about this hotel was the very nice day room with 2 large windows where you could sit and watch the activity on the Grand Canal; each nite we were there my wife and I sipped wine while mesmerized by the view - overall probably my fondest memory of our entire trip.

The hotel is owned (I think) by 2 brothers; both were very accommodating, spoke english well, were very happy to recommend resturants, etc.

Only negative comment I can make (and really nothing you can do about this) is you will get lost trying to find this place; trust me. We had their map, their directions ... still got lost within 2 minutes of stepping off the water taxi. However, very quickly we asked around and within 10 minutes or so found the place. From then on - no problem. Of course, as you will soon find, getting lost in Venice is par for the course and expected.

This place may be a little pricy, but I feel well worth it. We were very happy with our stay and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
