Very quiet B&B off a side canal in the Cannaregio district.

This was a nice B&B in Venice. We found it very conveniently located, very close to the Ca'd'Oro vaporetto stop.

You enter on the canal level into a large, mainly empty room, then walk up one flight of stairs to the reception/dining room. Doors to individual rooms are off this dining room. I believe there were also rooms upstairs.

Our room had a small entry area with a wardrobe which had a full length mirror on it, and contained extra blankets and room to hang clothing. The bedroom featured a king-sized bed, which was very comfortable. There were endtables on each side with reading lights. There was a dressing table also in the room. The bathroom had a nice sink, a toilet, bidet, and shower.

There was an air conditioner in the room which kept us cool at night. Breakfast was served in the dining room, and consisted of caffe, orange juice, toast, and assorted pastries.

What we enjoyed most about this B&B was the quiet location. Venice can be very full of crowds, and the main street nearby, Strada Nova, was usually quite crowded. But turn down the narrow street of Calle Delle Vele, cross one small bridge, and you are at the quiet location of B&B Al Palazzetto.

This well located B&B is a great bargain in an expensive city like Venice.

We found the location of this hotel quite convenient. When we arrived in Venice we parked our car at Piazzale Roma, then walked across the street to hop on the #1 vaporetto for the Ca'd'Oro stop. Walking a few blocks brought us to the quiet spot where the hotel is located.

We were about a 10 minute walk from Piazza San Marco, and just 5 minutes from Strada Nuova and the Grand Canal.

Our room was a large triple with an ensuite bath. The bathroom was also large, and featured a nice-sized tub with a shower. A large window made the bathroom bright and airy. A blowdrier was sitting on a shelf along with a supply of mini soaps and shampoos. There were plenty of large terry cloth towels.

The room was a corner room right on a small canal. Unfortunately there was some work going on while we were there, so our view in one direction wasn't too pleasant, but this should be temporary situation. The room had 3 large windows (all with shutters) and was clean and spacious. Closing the shutters at night made it quite dark.

The walls were covered with red and gold fabric, which matched the fabric on the chairs and tablecloth. A TV was in the room, and there was air conditioning! The furniture was in good condition and the beds were comfortable. I found the pillow to be a little small and flat (one of my common complaints!), so I asked for an additional pillow and it was waiting for me when we returned at the end of the day.

Our room was directly off the breakfast room, but 2 sets of doors meant the room was quiet. It also connected to another room, so it would be ideal for a larger family.

The breakfast was simple but nice ... coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Orange juice. Croissants and rolls with jam or Nutella were on every table.

We paid 140 euros for this room per night and were very pleased with the price, the service and the location. I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend B&B al Palazzetto.

Lovely B&B in a great location.

Al Palazzetto is a very comfortable, clean and centrally located bed and breakfast on a quiet calle off Strada Nuova. It is near the Ca' d'Oro vaporetto stop with only one bridge crossing to reach the B&B.

We made our bookings two months in advance and had a very pleasant exchange with the owner Davide Giangaspero. He emailed us one week before arrival asking us for our arrival time to ensure that he was there to meet us. We arrived on a Saturday night at around 9:00pm and had no trouble finding the B&B using the very detailed directions posted on his website.

The palazzo has three floors with a beautiful ground floor with doors to the canal. The first floor is where the breakfast room is located along with a desk which serves as the reception desk. Off the breakfast room there are a number of doors that lead to each guestroom.

Our room was the “Green Room” (€120/night), a very spacious room with twin beds and a French bed. I was travelling with my brother and had requested separate beds and this set-up turned out to be perfect. The room was nicely decorated with period furniture that included a writing desk with a chair, armoire, TV and nightstands. There were two windows that opened into a quite street and garden. The bathroom was ample, impeccably clean and modern with a window into the canal.

Breakfast was the typical Italian breakfast of juice, coffee, croissant, bread, butter and jam.

The “Green Room” and the common areas of the B&B were immaculate; the owner was friendly and the location was perfect. We had a lovely stay and were greeted warmly by Davide. I highly recommend Al Palazzetto for its location, beautiful accommodations and value.
