Short walk to everything in town, helpful owners and hosts, rooms tastefully decorated, delicious breakfast and cappuccini, free private parking, excellent rate

We stayed here for two nights in late May 2005. This is a bed and breakfast with a delicious breakfast (far more than just rolls, butter, jam, and espresso) each morning, and all the cappuccini you can drink!

The building is a modern building, so if you are looking for an ancient feeling in your lodging, this would not be the place for you. However, if you are looking for tasteful lobby and room decor, bright sunny rooms, free terrific parking (and in Pienza, this can be a headache) right at the hotel, friendly hosts at the desk who will help you with anything you need, a small pool and outside sitting area, this is a great place to stay.

It is also amazingly affordable - be sure to check the website to see the latest room rates. An example of how accommodating they are: we purchased some meats and cheeses in town for picnics and asked if it were possible to put them in the refrigerator in the kitchen. "Absolutely! That is no problem at all. Feel free to use the refrigerator whenever you would like."

I heartily encourage travelers to stay at Albergo Rutiliano.

Great value 5 minutes from the old town.

Luca and Sylvia made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Albergo Rutiliano is a small hotel located on the main street and is a 5 minute walk to town. It has lovely wood floors - a nice change from marble - and good art. There is parking on site.

We stayed in a room under the eaves which had nice light. There is no elevator. There is a pooland terrace with tables and chairs. We asked to have the room without breakfast (we prefer to walk in to town and have a caffe and brioche) and Luca was accommodating and lowered the price from 89 to 77. The family also owns Trattoria Fate de Buca in town, which is very good.
