Moneglia: B&B Casa di Roby

When: June 2006

Up on a Moneglia hillside overlooking the blue Mediterranian behind a lovely gate stands a beautifully restored stone house from the 700's ... now a lovely B&B.

Casa Di Roby is located on a hillside approx 30kms from Cinque Terre and Portofino. It is a fairly new and absolutely beautifully restored house dating back to the year 700. Stone and marble everywhere. No detail or cost was spared in this renovation.

A lovely pool overlooks the sea.

Each room has its own name. Ours was the Pananoramic Room with a lovely balcony overlooking the ocean, a huge marble sunken bath with an adjoining living area used by our son. We toured the other rooms which also were gorgeous with marble showers that were enormous! This is by far the best B&B we have ever stayed at.

Breakfast in the morning was a king's feast prepared by Roby and her mother in law who bakes everything. The lemon curd pastry was heaven!!! Oh, if I could have some in the morning!

We will return again next year as we promised Roby and need more time to explore the area. Roby is from Milano; a very friendly, gracious host who made us feel as if we had been friends for years. This place is a must for anyone who wants beauty, location, solitude and relaxation! This should be a 4.5 star rating. We were the only Americans and Roby was surprised that we found her. I explained in Italian (my native tongue) that I found her on the internet.
