Good B&B centrally located in old Sorrento

This is a small BB of 7 rooms located in the heart of the old Sorrento. It is located on the street level. We stayed there for 2 nights at the end of our trip to Sicily in July 2007. I booked the room through the B&B website and this was very easy and cheaper (than other links).

We rented a double room for 90E for 2 adults and a child, and were provided with a triple room. The room was very bright with modern furniture and a refrigerator which was very handy for keeping drinks cool. The room had a big window facing the hotel Tramontano with its gardens. The bathroom was small but ok for our stay. There was also a TV in the room and individual AC.

The greatest thing about this BB is its location. We could easily walk with our bags from the bus stop Piazza San Antonio to the BB about 200m. We could also easily walk everywhere in Sorrento. The belvedere and the access to the beach were just across the street. All restaurants, stores and Piazza Tasso were also very close.

There is a seafood restaurant right in same building. The breakfast consisting of breads, generous portion of cake, and a coffee of our choice, was served in the courtyard garden. The owner and other personnel were friendly. They also have a restaurant in Sorrento, Da Gigino, which is very popular. We couldn't eat there because it was always very busy - so arrive early.

From the B&B we could easily get to the beach and to the ferry serving the Amalfi coast. To go up we took the bus from Marina Picolla and it was the first stop in town.

The only negative point was that the place can be noisy sometimes. My husband reported that at night he could hear an engine starting and stopping quite often. Personally, I always use ear plugs in Europe, as many places can be noisy, so I was not disturbed by the noise.

This is not a luxurious place, but a good place to stay in a very central location. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
