A gorgeous & charming B&B in the perfect location in Florence...right in the Piazza della Signoria! One of our favorite hotels/B&Bs in Italy!!

We have stayed at the B&B InPiazzadellasignoria & have had three different rooms. We have loved them all & consider the B&B to be one of our favourite hotels/B&Bs in Italy!

The Michelangelo with its fresco ceiling, canopy bed, unbeatable view of the Piazza is a Double Deluxe ranging in price from E220-280. The Giotto (Double with a view), also with a fresco ceiling & delightful view from 200-250 euro. And the Botticelli a Triple Deluxe with a view from 255-280. The nice thing about the Botticelli is that it has an antique day bed so it does not have the appearance of just being a third bed.

Our friends had a room in the back (not sure of the name); they were very happy. The price for this room is between 160-220 euro. All the rooms, whether they are in the front or the back, are very large, filled with antique furniture & all individually decorated. The bathrooms are modern, large & beautiful. In two of the rooms we had roomy showers, unlike most 3 star hotels. The Botticelli has a soaker tub, big enough for two, which we were glad to make use of & enjoyed the candle that has been left to add to the ambience.

It is the small touches that the B&B has provided which makes me consider it to be a little gem. Water pitchers in each room with filtered water coolers in each hallway & teapots with assorted teas. The staff are very friendly & helpful in booking reservations for museums or restaurants & I am sure many other things.

The breakfast room is unusual as rather than having many tables it has one long diningroom table which I think sits up to 14. It is very nice as you get to share travel & restaurant tips with the other guests. On the table when you arrive there are pitchers of fresh orange juice, yogurt, cereal, & cake. Then you are brought individual fruit plates, coffee & by request bacon & eggs. We do not usually order eggs as it seems a bit North American, but I must admit that it was a nice change after weeks of the usual Italian buffet.

The location is perfect ... central to everything! If you are not familiar with the Piazza della Signoria, it is the piazza that has the huge statue of David, replicating the statue in the Accademia, & the Palazzo Vecchio. It is just minutes to all the other sights & great shopping...a welcome relief when there is so much to see in Florence.

Since there are only 7 rooms & 3 apartments in the B&B, the owners Sonia & Alessandro Pini have opened 4 more rooms, two with kitchens across the Piazza. We have not stayed in these rooms but I have no doubt that they are as comfortable & lovely as the ones in the B&B.

Other than all the wonderful things I have mentioned about the B&B, there are a few other good reasons to stay here. Valet parking, a fabulous restaurant next door called dei Frescobaldi & a gelateria with some of the best gelato in Italy. I do not remember the name. Just step out the door, go directly across the Piazza, turn right as if you were going to the Duomo & it is immediately on your left.

A beautiful & charming hotel, fabulous restaurant, great gelateria... now that is called la dolce vita!!

Beautiful room with a view {3 star}

Beautiful room overlooking Piazza Signoria. Elegantly furnished with spacious, up to the minute, bathroom. Great breakfast elegantly presented in dining room overlooking Piazza. Helpful, friendly staff and owners. Stayed in the "Michelangelo" - which was a deluxe double room with a view.
