An idyllic environment - peaceful and green - close to the Matera city center. Wonderfully warm hosts and excellent service.

This gem close to the Matera city center is worth seeking out. The rooms are very pleasant, tastefully decorated, and full of light. Thanks to efficient AC, you can stay cool even on the hottest summer days or you can cool off in the beautiful pool in the yard. The entire property is very well taken care of, clean, and beautiful.

The B&B is located by the hospital, close to the center of Matera, but far enough away from traffic and any potential crowds (even though I witnessed no crowds in the month of June). The bus stop is right in front of the house and makes it convenient to get to the city center. If you have a car, parking is available in front of the property.

Breakfast is served in a sun room next to the pool: espresso, coffee, tea, wonderful fresh Mater bread, butter, jam, and cakes.

The owners, who live on the property, are wonderful: very hospitable and helpful. They are available for questions and are happy to recommend things to do and places to go, if you ask.

For me, this is the perfect place to stay in Matera: convenient, comfortable, and very welcoming. I plan to return as soon as possible.
