Hotel du Lac Bellagio sits on the lakefront promenade of Lake Como next to the Villa Serbelloni. Lovely, small hotel with spectacular view.

Hotel du Lac sits on the busy lakefront promenade of Lake Como overlooking the tourist office and the ferry landing.

However, the hotel is quiet and we were never bothered by street noises or by the ferries quietly slipping in and out of dock. Family-owned, the friendly helpful staff reflects the hotel's commitment to service.

Our 5th floor rooms, #60 and #61 were medium size rooms, comfortable bathrooms, great air conditioning with small sitting balconies. The perfect spot for a morning coffee, although the 5th floor also has a large, comfortably furnished communal terrace overlooking the lake.

The hotel's sidewalk cafe and bar have extended hours and reasonable prices with a 10% discount for hotel guests. We enjoyed an extra coffee here in the mornings and a glass of wine each afternoon. There are several cafes and small shops along the P. Mazzini, and the main part of town is an easy uphill walk.

Reasonable prices, breakfast included. 230 Euros for a superior double.
