We spent 8 nights in this hotel, and given a choice we would certainly stay here again. The staff were excellent, and very helpful. When we arrived, we had tickets for the Juventus v Deportivo la Coruna Champions' League soccer match waiting for us. Check in was quick and painless, and before I got back from parking the car all of our bags were already in our room. One of our bags didn't make our connection from Schiphol (Amsterdam) and they put it in our room when we were out travelling for the day when it arrived the day after we checked it. The concierge gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, and you could tell that these were places where he ate, not places he got a kickback from. All the staff spoke English, but when we spoke to them in Italian they were very kind to us and spoke to us in Italian as well. When we checked out on the 13th, they also contacted the Best Western Cristoforo Colombo in Milan to see if they'd let us check in early. They did. All in all, I think this is one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at in Italy. One caveat - we normally rent apartments or argriturismi when we go to Italy, so we're not used to having staff help us do things. Perhaps the level of service is pretty standard at most hotels, but we're so independent when we travel that just about any service provided seems exceptional to us. :) This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
