A wonderful organic agriturismo; the family's cheese products are a unique delight. We were made to feel as part of the family, and would certainly return.

This wonderful organic agriturismo is situated a few minutes drive from Vesime, a village situated about the middle of the way between Alba and Acqui Terme if you take the road less-travelled.

It is the home of Olivia and Massimo Fresia, a young family who is very passionate about producing wholesome food of high quality, and taking care of the environment. They keep a herd of well-kept goats and produce a special regional type of cheese called Robiola di Roccaverano. Because of their organic methods and the importance they attach to the whole process of cheese making, from animal stewardship on to the intracacies of the dairy fermentation, their Robiola is not only a great delight to anyone who has breakfast there, but has also won top prizes in Italy and abroad.

The farmhouse has been charmingly renovated; there are currently three very comfortable, cozy and beautiful rooms, along with a central room that serves as a common area for breakfast and sitting.

Their website is very well done and informative, and there are many places to eat and travel in the vicinity that Olivia is happy to recommend.

We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and the conversations with Olivia, who speaks English very well. Olivia took us for a tour of the whole operation - from the stables where we saw the beautiful goats, and through the spotless dairy, where we received a detailed explanation of how the cheese is made. The family has been encouraged by the praise for their products, and hopes to enlarge both the herd and the dairy, but to keep the size of it all to a level that enables them to maintain high standards and a sane pace of life.

Olivia, Massimo and their two adorable daughters made us feel part of the family, and we would certainly be happy to return to this accommodation. I believe that families with children would especially benefit from a holiday here, although the place is suitable for anyone wanting to experience a quiet vacation in beautiful surroundings, and seeing at close-hand how a modern family is keeping up a unique gastronomic tradition.
