Ca Centopietre is a small boutique B&B in Dorsoduro, our favorite sestiere in Venice. We chose this inn because of good reviews and the very Venetian look of the interior pictures, and we were absolutely delighted with our stay there. We had a superior room that was large by European standards and the adjoining bath was also large and well appointed, everything was spotlessly clean. The towels were large and fluffy and there was always plenty of hot water. Our king size bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning effectively cooled the room. Our room décor was lovely with two large windows overlooking a small courtyard garden, the room also contained a small refrigerator and a safe. The pictures on the web site accurately reflect the actual rooms. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast was very, very good and plentiful; we enjoyed the start of our day in this beautiful Venetian room. There is also a computer in this room available for a small fee for internet use. The owner of the inn, Carlo was a gracious and charming host, he was unfailingly helpful in making reservations and answering questions during our visit. We were familiar with the area as it is located near the San Trovaso Canal, but it could be bit tricky to find the hotel the first time. We took a water taxi from Piazzale Roma where we had dropped off our rental car and were delivered to the San Trovaso Canal water stop. As directed, we called Carlo and he met us and led us the short distance to the hotel. It is actually quite easy: after crossing the San Trovaso bridge pass the first group of shops and take the first right (at the store with the green striped awning) and the first right again. The inn is then directly in front of you. We like changing hotels on each trip to Venice to spend more time exploring new neighborhoods, but our stay at Ca Centopietre was so pleasant and comfortable that we hope to stay there again on our next visit.
