A gem of a B&B in Venice with a garden to get away from the crowds. Ask for the garden view rooms. {3 star}

We stayed here during some hot days in June 2004 and what a treat to return to the quiet rooms and garden after walking around all day! There is no AC, but the breeze in the day and the fans at night were enough. Just don't leave your windows open at night or you'll be eaten alive by mosquitos.

About a 20 minute walk from San Marco, but we loved leaving the bustle at the end of a day of touring. Try to get a garden side room; #4 was large enough for a queen bed and sofa. They were fixing the canal out front during our visit, so I couldn't tell if rooms on that side would be able to smell the canal. The garden side was fine.
