I stayed for three nights. I paid €47 for a single room, ensuite. I got the room (no. 304) at the back, which made it pretty quiet. The room was quite clean. The shower facilities were great. Two towels provided per stay. There is no elevator. It took about 15 min to reach (with luggage) from Venice’s Santa Lucia train station. There are three bridges to cross. The convent is a little bit hard to find. It is located on a peaceful canal street (well-lit at night). There is a grocery store and several inexpensive canal-side restaurants nearby. The nearest vaporetto stop is ‘Piazzale Roma’; about 5-7 min away on foot. Sisters were very kind and caring-minded. They didn’t smile but we knew they cared for us. They spoke Italian (of course) and one of them spoke French. They prepared breakfast (roll, jam, butter, coffee and tea) by themselves. Breakfast was served 7.30-8.30 am. All people in Venice I met were nice, helpful and friendly. Only a few of them spoke English. caburlotto.casaperferie@virgilio.it This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
