This hotel was absolutely outstanding. {3 star} Off the Riva degli Schiavoni.

We booked two doubles and two singles at the Corte Contarina for four days to include New Years Eve - 2006.

The hotel was great. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. The staff was the friendliest we encountered in Italy. They went out of their way to help. The hotel is a ten minute (much longer if you stop and shop) walk to Saint Mark's Square and is in a quiet neighborhood. The walk is easy and impossible to get lost.

The breakfast was the best we had in Italy. Everything was prepared fresh for each person. The only downside of the hotel is that there is no elevator; however, the staff is happy to carry bags to the rooms. I will definitely use this hotel again when we return to Venice.
