Not a 5 star (as they claim) but had a great stay - would absolutely stay again. Great location, reasonably priced!

The reviews I read helped me to prepare for the fact that (although quite nice) this hotel is NOT a 5-star, as they claim (and the reviewers were 100% correct). But, I would absolutely stay here again AND The Covo is cheaper than Le Sirenuse and Il San Pietro (the legitimate 5 star hotels of Positano). The location is great, I did not find it noisy as other reviewers had claimed.

We had a junior suite with a balcony and the view is simply amazing and the room huge. If you plan to visit neighboring islands such as Capri, the hotel location is ideal as is situated very close to where the boats dock and to the beach (right across the way). The breakfast room is gorgeous as is the pool area (topless pool, my husband enjoyed that aspect of it). Initially, we wanted to stay at Il San Pietro, but they were fully booked.

Please allow me to make a suggestion: have lunch (or evening cocktails in time for sunset) at San Pietro (best to visit here during the day) and dinner at Le Sirenuse. We had the pleasure of enjoying dinner at Le Sirenuse - it was the most incredible and romantic experience of my life. The food was heavenly as was the service; they also provided live music. If you have to stay at a 5-Star, stay at Le Sirenuse — we liked it better than San Pietro (which is also a bit remote). San Pietro was as stuffy as it was overrated and the dinner ambience was not nearly as incredible as Le Sirenuse (we should have had lunch there instead).

My suggestion, save some money and stay at Covo, have lunch and dinner where mentioned above - you won't regret it. Enjoy!!
