We stayed at the Decumani for two nights. The double rooms were E130 a night including breakfast. As others have noted, the entrance to the hotel is in a graffiti covered courtyard and staircase. At the top of the stairs (there is also an elevator), the Hotel is lovely. Recently remodeled, the rooms are large and the bathrooms are very modern. The room keys double as energy savers ... you leave your card in a slot just inside the door to activate your lights. Our three rooms had large doors out to a balcony overlooking the street. The breakfast was served 7:45 to 10am in the large room of the former palazzo. There was cappuccino, etc., along with juices, yogurt, dry cereal, salami, cheese, and a variety of breads. All very tasty. The staff was lovely. Front desk staff spoke English. We loved the chaos of Naples and the quiet elegance of the hotel. We used Naples as our base to see Pompeii. I would go back to the Decumani and to Naples for a much longer stay. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
