A family owned Agriturismo in San Gimignano that is resaonably priced and serves family stle meals from their organic farm. Ideal locale as base for daytrips.

Fattoria Poggio Alloro is an ideal spot to use as a base for day trips to locations such as Florence, Siena, Volterra, Chianti country, etc. We have stayed at FPA three times - in 2004 and 2006 - and most recently in May 2008.

FPA is a biological farm (organic) and they serve family style meals for 30-33 euros per person including wine, water and liquer. The meals are fantastic from antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci. The rooms are reasonable at 77 euros per night including breakfast.

They have a terrace with a magnificent view of San Gimignano and and pool below the terrace. The Fiorini family are a wonderful family who are very helpful and accommodating. At the risk of letting out our secret about FPA it is the least we can do for Slow Trav members who have been so helpful to us in the past.

If possible be sure to stay and eat on Saturday nights when they serve their steak Florentine from the home grown Chianina cattle.
