4 star hotel. I would have been pushed to award 2 stars. It was F85+ degrees, with no fans, no air-conditioning, no customer service!

It was a shabby looking hotel. Most of the staff were very friendly and did their best to help us. The management seemed determined to do the opposite.

We had booked 2 rooms through totalstay.com. The hotel was billed as having air-conditioning in the rooms. We arrived in temps of 85+. Rooms were small, and absolutely boiling hot. Air-conditioning units were installed but not switched on. We asked for them to be switched on and were refused. We asked for electric fans and were refused, we asked to be moved to cooler rooms, and were refused. Quite frankly the desk clerk and manager just didn't care, and didn't bother to disguise it. I would never ever stay here again.

I love Italy, the people are wonderful, the cities are wonderful, the hotels are wonderful - Grand Hotel Duomo is the exception I'm afraid. I would never go there again and I would NEVER use Totalstay.com either. Their answer was to tell us we should have pre-checked that air-conditioning was available!!!! I have to say I always use internet companies for booking hotels and flights and totalstay.com is the only one I would never be able to recommend. Other may have different experiences; personally I would stay well clear.
