The location is between the train station and the duomo, which we thought was great. It is a small pensione run by Bruno and Aurora - brother and sister. I enjoyed my mornings so much with Aurora, that I would wake up early to have time to chat with her while she made great espresso for the guests. She doesn't speak much English so I got to practice my limited Italian, and we wore out the English/Italian dictionary. Our room was spacious with a tiny bathroom. Bruno was installing air condtioners in each room while we were there. We got to experience the before and after. It was so nice once the cool air was going. That was 3 years ago. By now, AC is old hat, I'm sure! This was a very affordable place to stay, with kind innkeepers. It is a great place to stay if you are looking for a place right in the heart of Florence and you want to watch your expenses!
