Close to the train station, and has modern conveniences, including a helpful front desk staff and air conditioning. {4 star}

This three-star hotel (actually, four stars in Italy) hotel is right around the corner from the train station. However, it's a bit of a walk to other attractions like the duomo and Ponte Vecchio (only 20 minutes). We stayed on the main floor and always felt safe. Great air conditioning in the smallish room (typical of Italy, we discovered), and a GREAT bathroom with a huge shower (no bathtub).

Helpful front desk staff when we needed a recommendation for dinner. Newspapers available in several languages every morning. Nice breakfast served, included, in their breakfast room/patio.
