Bellagio: Hotel Belvedere

Spectacular views, friendly staff.

I have never had a more spectacular view from a hotel room than from our bed and private balcony at the Hotel Belvadere in Bellagio. The views of Lake Como and the mountains were to die for.

We stayed in room 414, which was a corner room with a private balcony that had recently been refurbished. The double room was large by European standards and the bathroom was spacious and modern with good hot water and water pressure. The bed was very comfortable. The room had air conditioning which we didn't need, a mini-bar and hair dryer.

The grounds were very pretty with a pool and pool deck which we didn't use because it was too cold. The buffet breakast was very good and quite extensive in its offerings.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We left very early in the morning to drive to Milan to catch a 10am plane, so they took our breakfast order the night before and it was ready for us without a problem.

The hotel is a 3 minute stroll down a small incline to town with its many restaurants and shops. They redo a floor at a time and floors 3 through 5 are completed. Ask for a corner room on floors 3, 4 or 5 to insure a private balcony (lower floors had shared terraces) and the outstanding view.
