Excellent location and comfortable rooms - combined with a welcoming and friendly staff, this small hotel is a good choice in Ravenna. {3 stars}

The hotel is in a pedestrian-only district, so we had a little difficulty figuring out how to drive up to it and where to park. Shannon walked to the hotel and asked the desk clerk while I waited in the car. The helpful clerk gave Shannon very detailed driving instructions (and outlined the directions on a map) to an inexpensive parking lot at S. Vitale. We checked into the hotel around lunchtime, and she cheerfully let us leave our belongings behind the desk while we toured the town.

The hotel has an elevator, but we walked up the stairs to our rooms on the first (European 2nd) floor.

My single room was comfortable, and although narrow and overall not very big, it was nicely designed for a short stay. There was a single bed (a bit wider than a twin-sized), an armoire with a bench next to it, writing table and chair, TV (1 English channel - BBC), small in-room safe and a mini-bar. The bed linens were crisp and the room was very clean. It overlooked Via IV Novembre, and I enjoyed watching the activity on the street below.

The bathroom was tiled in a pretty deep blue color, and the shower had good water pressure. No bathtub. The usual toiletry amenities were provided.

The hotel spanned the width of two streets, and the ground floor breakfast room had large windows overlooking Via Giacomo. There were 6 or 8 tables. The buffet included juices, meats, pastries, yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit. A menu on the table listed other items that were available - eggs, different juices, etc. We ordered our caffe latte from a friendly attendant.

The hotel's location couldn't have been more ideal for us. It was easy walking distance to the historic sights we came to see. As noted, it's on a pedestrian only street with plenty of shops and restaurants. Late Sunday afternoon we stopped for a coffee/vino right around the corner at Caffe Roma in Piazza del Popolo. Just up the street in one direction was the well regarded Ca' de Ven enoteca and in the other the much-praised La Gardela restaurant.

I'd reserved two single rooms via the SlowTrav.com Venere click thru. The rooms were 58 each, including breakfast. I consider this hotel a very good value, and would stay there again.

Basic room, good location; some smoke seeping through the door. Extremely friendly and helpful desk staff. {3 star}

The hotel is located in a nice, central, quiet location. The desk staff were extremely helpful. After I arrived, I realized that I still had the hotel key card from the previous hotel that I stayed in. The woman at the desk called the hotel to let them know that I still had the key and then sent the key back to the hotel through the mail without charging me. The room was basic, nothing memorable. I was not too happy with the smoke seeping through the door, however, this seems to happen often in "smoke happy Europe".
