Charming hotel on the main street of the delightfully quiet Lido of Venice. {2 stars}

We spent 6 nights here in a double and single room. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and with all the expected amenities including a hair dryer and CNN and BBC on the television.

Our rooms were in their own wing with windows that open (no screens) and individually climate controlled.

A daily breakfast of fresh juice, cereal, yogurt, meats (prosciutto), and rolls and croissants was provided. Coffee by the self service pot and by order with the hostess.

The hotel was an easy walk from the Elisabetta vaporetto staging or the water taxi stand. If you have anything more than carryon luggage, I recommend the taxi. There is one step to the lobby and three more to the lift. The hotel is rated at three stars and cost us E90 a night (everything included) for the double room and E70 for the single.

While not for everyone (especially first time visitors), we found staying on the Lido to be a delightful escape from the crowds of tourists in Venice proper. Yes, there are cars but there are also restaurants, greenery, the beach on the Adriatic, and quiet. We even rented bicycles one day. Access to Venice was quick and easy with several vaporetto lines making connections to San Marco or to Murano.
