Hotel David is a small B&B boutique hotel, with tasteful rooms with antique furnishings and frescoed ceilings. Everynight has a happy hour that nobody misses.

Location is in Oltrarno, with good bus access right out front, to Santa Maria Novella train station and the Duomo / centro area. Buy your tickets at the front desk.

The friendliness of the staff were exceptional.

Free email / internet. Air conditioned.

The continental breakfast was wonderful, with a large assortment of fresh baked goods - cakes / pastries each morning. Good coffee (americano), and they will make espresso or cappuccino on order.

Rooms are beautiful with antique furniture and painted frescoed ceilings. Bathroom is equipped with very modern fixtures and a huge shower.

Every night they host a happy hour, with free antipasti and wine. This popular event seems to be attended by all guests (who can turn down a freebie?), and seems to be almost bottomless. A few of us got carried away with meeting new friends one night, and it seemed the food and wine never stopped! We didn't get out to dinner until the wee hours! (Maybe I should be embarassed?)

Breakfast becomes a social event, rejoining all the new friends you made the night before!
