Clients very disappointed with this hotel in March 2004.

Based partly on a review on SlowTrav, and positive ones on other sites, clients had me book them at Hotel Diana.

They called me after checking in, to say the hotel smelled dirty, and the carpets and upholstery were dirty. I got them moved in a hurry, but wanted to share this first-hand information!

A modern, convenient, and quiet hotel in Ravenna. {3 star}

Hotel Diana is a convenient, if somewhat bland place to stay in Ravenna. We found it through Karen Brown's "Charming Bed and Breakfasts" and while it is neither a B&B, nor particularly charming, it is a fine choice for a night or two. The room was large and comfortable, well air conditioned, with a modern bathroom and a great shower (a real one with a stall!)

The location is quiet and there is parking adjacent for €9 a night. It is easy walking to all the monuments and some good restaurants (we loved La Gardela, two blocks away.)

One thing to note: although they have a web site and an email address, my emails went unanswered; a fax was answered immediately. So best not to rely on email to contact them.
