Loved it! Great location.

We liked everything about this hotel.

Perfect location adjacent to the Accademia bridge and vaporetto stop. We had the large window room (number 8) with nice views. It was not too noisy.

Breakfast is delivered to your room; just tell them what time. Bargain for this view and Grand Canal location. E180/night as of Fall 2010. Other rooms are cheaper.

Great little hotel...not fancy, but charming, clean & offers a FABULOUS LOCATION right on the Grand Canal at the Accademia Bridge. Very good value for the money.

A vaporetto stop is in front of the hotel ... and St. Mark's is about a 10 minute walk.

The hotel is small, not sure of the number of rooms, but know that size and price varies. Several rooms are larger and overlook the grand canal, but even though we booked about a year in advance, those rooms were already taken.

Our room was the small double with a very tiny bathroom. It was located right next to the reception desk and it overlooked the Accademia Bridge ... but we could see a portion of the Grand Canal. The rooms are sparsely furnished ... and not high end ... but if you are looking for a good value ... and are only planning to sleep in your room and not spending much time in it... I think the Hotel Galleria is a perfect choice.

Breakfast is served right in your room and you order what you want the night before. It includes coffee/tea, choice of juice, & the best croissants we had in Italy. There is also a restaurant right below the hotel and it has an outside terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. The terrace was great for enjoying a glass of wine & pizza while watching the boats go by.

We just loved the Dorsoduro section because it was not as crowded ... we walked the "neighborhood" around the hotel late at night and early morning. It was so beautiful and really allowed us to enjoy the "real Venice." There is a beautiful church not too far from the hotel ... you can see it from the Accademia bridge. Be sure to visit it... I cannot remember the name...but you really cannot miss it!

We confirmed our reservation with a credit card, but if you pay cash, they will give you a 10% discount. I want to say we ended up paying around 100 euros cash for our room.

I think this hotel gets booked very fast ... so contact them as early as possible. It has gotten very good reviews on Slow Travel and elsewhere.
