Levanto: Hotel Garden

Quiet, small hotel in Levanto.

I loved Levanto. This hotel was well located right near the waterfront (although no water view from my room).

The room was spotless, quiet and had a great hot shower (all my requirements). It also had a small terrace with a nice garden view. Right out the front door is the walkway along the water. Everything in Levanto is within walking distance. Train station is a 10 minute walk.

They had a good breakfast with fresh cornetti and pastries (and the usual cold cuts, cheese, cereal).

People at the front desk were very helpful.

Perfect location, pleasant room, great breakfast and friendly staff at a reasonable price. {2 stars}

Hotel Garden is a small two ** hotel (really a B&B) located just across from Levanto's beach and casino. It turned out to be a great pick - friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff, delicious breakfast, comfortable, squeaky clean rooms and a convenient in-town location within easy walking distance of restaurants, the Cinque Terre ferry and local sights. The railroad station is about 12-15 minute walk (at least for middle-aged women with luggage).

The hotel occupies one floor, one flight up from street level on a pedestrian street. The rooms are small, and simply but adequately furnished. Bathrooms are brand new, beds comfortable and the linens are first class. Rooms are "eat off the floor" clean. Rooms have frigobars and safes. Rooms face community gardens in the back. The front rooms face the beach but the view is obstructed. All rooms have small balconies.

There is a small desk/lobby area with reading material, books and a computer for guests' use with high speed internet access. There is no charge for computer use.

The breakfast room is pleasant - the breakfast buffet offers, fruits, juices, yogurt, cereals, pastries, rolls, American drip coffee, espresso and cappuccino.

Levanto itself was a great location - a seaside town offering the usual tourist amenities but having a real life of its own. After spending time in the other Cinque Terre towns, we decided Levanto was a far better choice.

Our double rooms were E95 and the single was E65.
