Well located, reasonably priced {3-star} accommodations close to the Arena in Verona

Be warned: if you access the web site of this hotel, you will be bombarded with a playing of Beethoven's Fur Elise.

We stayed at the Hotel Giulietta e Romeo when we learned that our first choice, Hotel Touring, had closed. The Hotel Touring had secured substitute accommodations for us at the Grand Hotel for a very reasonable price, but we felt the Grand was not in the ideal location for us.

The Giulietta e Romeo is located one street over from Via Mazzini and is very close to the Arena and to Piazza Bra. The room and bathroom were a good size; the hotel had an elevator; breakfast was included and was the usual platter of meat, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, several cereals, juices, fruit; and in the lobby, there was a PC with Internet access that one could use for 1 euro per 30 minutes.

The room price was 125 euros per night. We liked this hotel, but when we discovered that Hotel Touring was still open, hoping for VinItaly business, we spent our last night in Italy there (March 30th). Its location is closer to the Piazza Erbe, a place we like to hang out. But we were saddened by the condition of the Hotel Touring which had deteriorated since our last visit to Verona.

I would stay at the Hotel Giulietta e Romeo again, but I would also like to try another place on our next trip.
