Good central location, well run and a relative bargain. {4 stars}

We stayed here 2 nights in triple room 407 at the rate of E199. The hotel is well located for historic/central Rome. We booked directly through the hotel which quoted a considerably cheaper rate than that shown on Venere (E260).

This 4 star hotel is near the Campidoglio and adjacent to St. Stanislav's church with which it is associated. It is the former residence of a Polish cardinal and considers itself a hospice (not in the American sense of a place for the terminally ill) for Polish pilgrims, and English and Polish are spoken. My sense is that most of the guests were Polish.

Our triple room was under the eaves with dormer windows at floor level with a view over rooftops. I especially enjoyed being able to hear faintly in the morning with the windows open the organ and singing from masses next door. Otherwise, it was relatively quiet. The hotel was clean and well managed, and breakfast was just fine. The hotel has a rooftop terrace which was very pleasant. I thought the bed was a little hard, but my son and husband thought they were just fine.

The desk was always manned, and they arranged a taxi to Fiumicino airport for E50 for the three of us on the day we left. I recommend this hotel to others and thought it was a relative bargain for central Rome in what seemed to be a safe neighborhood within easy walking distance of the most popular sights.
