It is a small charming hotel with 20 rooms, separated in a mainhouse, wine yard house and directly in front of the beach. All around is only nature.

Me and my son came for the first time on the island of Elba. We booked Hotel Ilio from the web site, and chose a sea view room (there are different type of rooms) for 4 nights at the end of September, when the beaches in Italy are not so full of people.

The room was in the wine-yard-house. When we opened the door to the balcony in the morning, the sea seemed to be in the room.

We had breakfast in the morning with hot brioche and cappuccino, but the buffet was so rich of fruit, corn flakes, bread made by the owner's chef, cheese or ham...

My son loves to go out with the kayak, so he rented one on the beach (100mt from the hotel) and I enjoyed the undersea world with a snorkel-excursion. It was fantastic.

One day we went to the beach of Fetovaia, but it was too hot, so we spent the rest of the day visiting a little town of Marina di Campo (ideal for shopping, but not for sleeping) and then we saw the Villa of Napoleone.

The dinner is absolutely great. You can choose in the morning what you wish to eat - always fish or meat or vegetarian food and the wine (from Elba) is excellent.

When we asked for some help the staff was very helpful. A tip : Go to this hotel on springtime, I guess it will be unforgettable.
