Four star hotel at the top of the Spanish Steps.

We stayed at this 4 star hotel for one night, using Priority Club points to pay for the room (40,000 points = 1 free room night).

The hotel is located on Via Sistina, at the top of the Spanish Steps, a few doors from the much more expensive Hotel Hassler. This is a good location if you want to be in the thick of the action in Rome.

The atmosphere in the lobby and the large main floor lounge is of a comfortable faded elegance, with lots of red upholstered armchairs, couches and tables. There is a rooftop terrace with a wonderful view over the city.

During our brief stay, we found the staff to be professional and friendly.

We were given a “Classic Double”, the least expensive room type in the hotel. Although the room was small, it was nicely furnished with queen bed (with beautiful Frette sheets and blankets), end tables, wardrobe, satellite TV, desk and chair, armchair, and high speed internet hookup for your laptop. There was a large window, but the view was of an air shaft. The bathroom was also small but quite luxurious, with marble tile, nice amenities, and a tub. Other (more expensive) rooms are larger, and some have terraces with views.

If you require more service and luxury than a 3 star hotel offers, but your budget won’t stretch to a 5 star, this hotel is a good option. If you book online you can take advantage of special offers including an advance purchase rate.
