Excellent location, friendly staff, lovely rooftop terrace. Very good value for the price. {3 stars}

This small, well maintained hotel is in an ideal location in the historic center. We took a taxi from the train station; it took less than 10 minutes and cost €7.

We'd originally booked a double room, but decided at the last minute to get separate rooms. They were able to accommodate us - which was a good thing, because the rooms were very small! Just enough room for a double bed, wall mounted TV (no English channels), desk and chair, and tiny ensuite bathroom. Everything was spotless. Good water pressure in the shower. In-room temperature controls. My room (#107) had a tall window but no view; Shannon's (#102) had a small balcony overlooking the narrow street.

While we were waiting for my room to be made up, we went upstairs to the rooftop terrace. Fabulous views of the town and sea, and it felt like you could reach out and touch "La Rocca" - the mountain that gives Cefalù its distinctive look. The terrace had room for tables and chairs, and in season they serve food and drinks there.

We could walk out the door of the hotel and quickly be at the main street (Corso Ruggero)in one direction, or at the beach in the other. The Corso has restaurants, shops, coffee and wine bars, as well as the Duomo and the hiking trail leading up to La Rocca.

I'd stay here again, and recommend it to others. €62 for a double room for single use (€70 for a double) in the off-season. (March)
