A great location and a budget price make this hotel our #1 choice in Florence. {2 stars}

We found this hotel many years ago and keep going back - the location, the views, the comfortable rooms and budget prices give us everything we want in a hotel - oh, and a continental breakfast, too!

After undergoing a complete refurbishment a few years ago the Hotel Medici now offers more en-suite rooms. Although small, everything is comfortable, and for a real treat, the rooms on the 6th floor open up to a terrace with a view of the Duomo - the perfect place for a snack or even a meal!

Caution: during the summer these rooms can be noisy at night because of people on the terrace, so if you're not a night owl, be warned!

Every time we return Gabriele calls me by name and welcomes us as if we were old friends.

Our room (the same one we stayed in during our first visit 9 years ago) was clean, the bed was comfortable and the furnishings more than adequate - small bedside tables with lamps, a dressing table with chair, and a large armadio with plenty of hangers.
