Beautiful setting and views to match, but no real beach access except for a 30 min. hike down the mountain. Call me spoiled, but it was disappointing to me.

The Hotel Monte Conero is in a remote setting in the Parco Conero. You can hike to town (Sirolo) but it's a long walk. The hotel grounds are quite beautiful with amazing views at every turn. The pool area, while not very big, is pretty with plenty of comfortable lounges at no extra charge.

The rooms are absolutely no frills. There is no art on the walls; beds are lumpy and just old, the linens are OK. The towels are that very thin material that we usually think of as kitchen towels. The shower is very small but it works well.

The sea view from our room was very nice but not spectacular as the window is small and well above the sea.

Breakfast was typical. Good variety of breads, cheese and hams with yogurt and cereal, too.

The young women at the reception were friendly, helpful and very cute. They all spoke English well.

The price was reasonable--about €100/night for a double with breakfast.

Rooms without views may cost less. If this is your price range it really is fine. For me, I wish we had spent a bit more and stayed somewhere nicer. (My husband refers to this as the "princess mentality.")
