When: October 2006

Modern, clean, convenient to the city centre with a very nice breakfast included. {4 stars}

We used the travel agent in the Santa Lucia train station in Venice to book this hotel for three nights. Our rate was 100 euros/night/double which included a very substantial breakfast buffet.

We had wanted to be near the city center but as we were booking at the last minute (the morning of our arrival in Milan) we did not find a lot of options. We were concerned it would be too far fromt he center, but Hotel Nasco turned out to be surprisingly (to us) convenient. It was a short tram ride from Milan Centrale train station and to the Duomo, and a short walk to the Domodosolla Nord train line station.

The room was pretty small but pleasant; the bathroom nice and more than adequate. There was a bar with complimentary happy hour snacks. The hotel also offered a free internet station in the lobby with a printer. We were able to download our pictures from our cameras here with no problem.

The breakfast buffet included cereal, yogurt, canned fruit, eggs, sausage, juices and a varity of breads and rolls. I had a cappucino and a hot chocolate each morning. We were always asked if we wanted something more.

The staff was pleasant and willing to help, although some of the train information we were given turned out to be incorrect.

There were several restaurants within walking distance, and there was a street market nearby on the Tuesday we were there. The hotel met our needs very well, and we felt we did well with a last-minute booking.
