The hotel feels ancient but it's clean enough, friendly, helpful, has free Wi-Fi in reception area, air conditioning, and some English Language channels on TV. {3 stars}

Hotel Pendini feels like it opened as a nice hotel a hundred years ago and hasn't changed since. But it has free wi-fi in the desk area, several English channels on TV, and great air conditioning. The rooms are large. Everything feels very old and in need of fresh paint or new wallpaper, but overall we liked it fine. Some websites list it as a 3-star, a few list it as 2-star. I'd give it 2 and a half.

It's on the 3rd floor (that's 4th floor to we Americans) but has an elevator to get you there. At that level, street noise was no problem and we all slept well.

The breakfast was one of the best we had in Italy. The location is fabulous, just a couple of blocks north to the duomo, a couple of blocks south to the Uffizi. Easy walk to Ponte Vecchio or 15 minutes to Accademia. I can't imagine a better location in Florence.

The staff's English was very good and they were friendly and helpful in every way.

I plugged the hotel address into the car's GPS and it took us right to the door. Inside, we handed them our keys and they had the car parked, then brought it back to us when we checked out. I really have no complaints about the place, other than that it's a bit drab.
