Right on the canal, steps from Piazza San Marco. Good place to stay.

Prior to our departure we requested their most inexpensive room with a canal view. Much to our disappointment, we received a tiny room in what must have once been an attic and the view of the canal could only be had by leaning straight out the four foot deep window sill and looking straight down. We requested a different room and understood that the price would change. Our second room was much larger, with en suite bath and two large windows overlooking the canal. It was splendid and well worth the price increase. There were no curtains on the windows, however, so once the shutters were closed for privacy, the air flow to the room was diminished.

Breakfast was included and served each morning in the dining area off the lobby. No complaints about the food, there were fresh baked rolls, coffee and juice each day. I recommend Hotel Riva, however, do make sure you are aware of where your room is and how large. There are many steep steps inside the hotel and a canal view is beautiful but very noisy. Our upgraded room was €130 which I felt was reasonable considering the location and room size.
