Perfect location; clean; friendly staff; good value.

Hotel Roma is steps from Piazza Maggiore. Room was small but comfortable and quiet, with a nice bathroom. The location is perfect. Staff friendly.

In May 2010 I paid 95 euros INCLUDING breakfast.

The Roma is a very comfortable hotel in an excellent Bologna location, just off the Piazza Maggiore. {3 stars}

The Hotel Roma is a very well run and very comfortable hotel in the perfect Bologna location. My room was attractively done, with the same floral print on the walls, bedspread, etc. I had requested a back room with a balcony, and got one (although I did not use the balcony much, I did look out on it occasionally).

The hotel has a small lobby and is well supplied with all the Italian dailies. There are also several connecting well furnished sitting rooms, and as a single traveller, I enjoyed using these as places to read, etc, as it was too cold out to sit in the piazzas.

Breakfast is included, but it is a surprisingly limited buffet selection. (I read the new Dibdin book "Back to Bologna" during my stay, and the writer has his protagonist staying in this very hotel and complaining that the breakfasts are designed for travelling Northern European businessmen.)

The hotel runs the full width of the block between the via d'Azeglio and the via Fusari; those arriving by car can pull up to the via Fusari entrance and leave the car there to be parked, I believe.
