Very comfortable business hotel directly across the street from the Porta Nuova train station with a fine breakfast. {3 stars}

This 3-star hotel is in an excellent location for touring Torino. It is an easy walk across the street from the train station (Porta Nuova) at the beginning of a series of covered arcades that stretch through the Piazza San Carlo to the central Piazza Castello. There are no steps between the train track to the lobby elevator. It has easy access to public transportation (bus, tram, and Metro) and the area is rich with shopping and restaurants.

Our room was very comfortable with a good sized closet, desk, large bed, and a 15-foot French door opening onto a tiny terrace (overlooking an interior courtyard). The bathroom consisted of 2 rooms, a sink in an alcove and a second room with toilet and a full sized shower stall with shower curtain. The usual amenities included satellite TV and a hair dryer.

Despite its proximity to the train and public transportation, the hotel was extremely quiet.

The breakfast was excellent with the usual selection of juice, fruit, cereal, meats and cheese, and pastries. The coffee service consisted of the most elaborate fully automatic espresso machine I have ever seen. With the touch of a button you could have espresso, American coffee, cappuccino, hot milk, and hot water.

Perhaps as a sign of the times the front entrance featured the room rates of EU 112 for a double and Eu 8 pp for breakfast. The rate was lower at EU 98 on Saturday and Sunday. This compared favorably to our average room rate of EU 110 with breakfast included that we had booked through Venere.

We enjoyed Torino and this hotel so much that we extended our booked 5-night stay to 9. With the completion of the high speed train lines from the Porta Susa, this hotel may not be as popular with train travelers in the future.
